Exchange 2007 Disaster Recovery Questions.
I am in the process of putting together a plan to do a disastery recovery test for my current Exchange 2007 environment. Here is my current setup. All Exchange servers are SP1 RU9. ALL physical hardware, nothing is virtualized. (2) ISA 2006 servers in an array for publiching OWA\Outlook Anywhere\Active Sync. ALL internal and external OWA traffic goes through ISA. Running on Windows 2003 Server (2) HUB Servers. Windows 2008 Standard (2) CAS Servers. Windows 2008 Standard (2) 2 node CCR clusters. Windows 2008 Enterprise. I have 12 databases on each CCR cluster. I have been tasked with doing a complete restore of the entire system at an off site DR location. This system will be on a completely isolated network. We will do a restore of an existing domain controller and at that point it is my job to restore Excahange and get mail flowing between internal mailboxes on the isolated network. I am looking for guidence on what the proper procedure would be for recovery. I have been through a lot of the information on the MS site and most of it is very vauge. I do have access to VMware, so I could take a virtual copy of all the servers and use that for the restore after AD is restored. I am unclear if that process will help me at all or if I should just plan on using the setup:/recoverserver option to bring Exchange backup?
