Exchange 2007 E-mail Notifications
Dear Team,
I have a question on e-mail notifications. The requirement is that when an internal exchange 2007 user sends an e-mail to another internal exchange 2007 user, using Outlook 2007 (without clicking the read receipt or delivery receipt) he should receive an auto notification that the mail has been delivered and read by the recipient. I got to know that this is possible with Lotus Domino and would like to achieve the same with Exchange 2007.

Its basically Outlook feature sso you can set these settings forcefully for all users by default using office/outlook group policy template (adm files)...

Agreed with Amit, This is not a Exchange feature but possible only through Client. instead of setting this on individual client you can have use Office/Outlook GP template and force this policy to everyone required. Dear Xiu,I hope you got what i am trying to achieve. If User A sends an email with a read receipt to User B and User B selects not to send a read receipt to User A, even in that case irrespective of whether User B if he decides to send a read receipt or not, User A should get a notification that his email was read. I want this to apply to all users.Regards,Savio F

I suppose from Server side it is not possible to request read receipts but from client there are few options as below...
Group Policy template. as provided above by Xiu and Amit.
Registrie. HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Mail Value name: Receipt Response Value type: REG_DWORD Value data: 0 = Always send a response 1 = Never send a response 2 = Ask before sending a response (default)
