We currently have a single Exchange 2007 server using GAL segregation (which I believe is not supported by Microsoft). I want set up a co-existence with a single Exchange 2010 server. My question is - has anyone done this before? If so, what affect did it have on the existing 2007 GAL segregation config?

If you are planning on using Exchange 2010 and you currently have Exchange 2007 using Address List segregation, you must remove all address list segregation from your organization to avoid running into the bug that we are currently working on at this time.

This blog only refers 2010 SP1. We will be installing SP2. Aren't the bugs fixed in SP2?

Does anyone know if this is fixed in 2010 SP2?

If not, Do you have a paper on what breaks? Maybe I can write a script to run during the installation process. Thanks

It is not fixed because that not a bug. Exchange 2007 segregation isn't supported so it dont't need a fix.

The point being Exchange 2010 servers may not be able to access the GAL, which can conduct to serious errors in recipients. You need to remove segregation prior to the migration, or set a new independant forest and move the users between.
