Exchange 2007 Install Fail
Hi, Please could you offer me some advice with my problem here.
I have a test network with one Exchange 2000 Server, one Exchange 2003 Server. Exchange 2000 server has been taken off line due to hardware issues and Exchange 2003 is now the master. All routing etc works and working fine with my single 2003 SP2 Exchange server. Trying to install Exchange 2007 and during the process I get:
Summary: 6 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:06
Organization PreparationFailed
Error:Active Directory operation failed on "MY DC ORG etc here"
The object exists.
Elapsed Time: 00:00:06
Copy Exchange FilesCancelled
Hub Transport RoleCancelled
Client Access RoleCancelled
Mailbox RoleCancelled
Unified Messaging RoleCancelled
Ive found article 936907 which explains about the "ALL CONTACTS" Group being incorrect. Ive used ADSI edit but I cannot find any reference to All Contacts and in Exchange System Manager on Exchange 2003 I have NO All Contacts Group. If I try to create one I get
Object Already Exists ID 80071392.
Please can you help with my Exchange 2007 installation?! Thanks

hello Mkc,
Can you validate the log file that was generated during the installation process? You can look for entries starting with [ERROR]. The default path for those files is C:\ExchangeSetupLogs.

I'm having the same issue:
[8/1/2007 10:10:10 AM] [1] [ERROR] Active Directory operation failed on fnw5101.falcon-nw.com. The object 'CN=All Contacts,CN=All Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=Falcon Northwest,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=falcon-nw,DC=com' already exists.[8/1/2007 10:10:10 AM] [1] [ERROR] The object exists.
Can anyone advise?

We are also having the same issue. the Exch 2007 /prepareAD logs say that the All Users Address list already exists. This address list is not visible through any AD tools or access privileges that I've tried. But when trying to create the All Users address list we get ID: 80071392 'already exists'.
