Hi All My company has offices in three different countries. Our mail server is published over internet and is currently residing in other country. Now they are asking us to deploy our own exchange server and all the users in our country will be accessing email through this server. My concern is that if i deploy exchange 2007 here in my country, is there any way i can migrate those mailboxes in my new exchange organization so that the users can access their old emails as well? Looking for a help. Regards

Agree...why 2007? I would go with 2010. Where exactly is your current email? Is it hosted? How are you accessing it (POP/IMAP/MAPI, etc). Thanks for your reply. Currently the exchange is located in Thailand and published over internet. I would ask my company about installing exchange 2010. However my concern is that how i would connect my exchange with the other exchange in Thailand and then move the mailboxes from one server to other. Also this move cmdlet depends on the configuration or not? I guess it is going to be cross forest migration. Please Help

If exchange 2010 is going to be same ORG than its not going to be Cross forest. It will be simple Move Mailbox from One server to another :) As i mentioned before, if its in the same ORG than you don't have to connect your new exchange server to Exchange in Thailand. Hi, What is the version of Exchange server in Thailand, Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007? Are both of Exchange servers in the same domain? If you want to migrate to new Exchange server, you need to move mailboxes and public folders to new Exchange server. Exchange 2007 is running in Thailand. So far i have been able to understand that it is possible to migrate mailboxes from one server to other even if the forest is different. Since i am going to deploy new exchange server here in my office, obviously that will be on different forest because ppl in Thailand is asking us to deploy our own exchange instead of accessing their server. For that i would deploy a new domain controller and then install a exchange server. Guess what 1500 mailboxes are residing in Thailand and my boss wants all of them in newly deploying exchange server. Hope i am making some sense here. Thanks
