Exchange 2007 Organization Mailbox Address lists and Offline Address Book
I am a new Exchange Admin for an existing Exchange 2007 system that was upgraded from 2003. The Account used to manage the Global settings (and pretty much all changes) has the View Only Role. None of the base GALs has been upgraded from legacy. I am in Exchange Org Administrators. Here is my delima: 1. When logged with the Account used to create the Address lists and OAB, i can see all Address list and OAB. I can create new Address Lists, (but not edit those still in legacy mode, but i know that fix) via MMC or Exchange Power shell. 2. When logged on as me, (or any other user) I cannot see any of the Address Lists (including default) or OAB objects. I aslo am unable to see or pull any data about them from the Ex Power Shell. Also, when i try to create a new Address list from MMC, it crashes the MMC and closes. My first thought was to give EOA permissions the account that has the abilty to see the Address lists and upgrade the legacy objects hoping that it would then allow others to see and work with the Address Lists. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome!Dan

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately, it did not correct the problem, but I agree its a permission issue. I feel it may be because the account that was used to create them is not in the Exchange Org Admin group. (Its view only) I have not created a new Test Admin account, but will try that as well. Hi Dan How is your second try, did it work? And for the permission to create Address List and OAB, you could refer to the link below Mailbox Permissions http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638132.aspx Cheers Zi FengZi Feng TechNet Community Support
