Exchange 2007 Outlook 2011 Autodiscover
So I have Exchange Standard 2007 SP1 and Outlook 2011 on Macs. When I initially set up outlook I input exchange.domain.com as my server and of course it works internally and externally. My only problem is outlook will change it to exchange.domainmx.local when I am inside our network and I am assuming our exchange and/or autodiscover is handing out that address. I don't want to touch every machine and use the apple script to disable autodiscover. How can I change it on server side? Thank you

Telling Outlook to not autodiscover works but I don't want to go around to every machine. I've tried the server side of it but I'm either not setting up the autodiscover properly or something. Anyone have a step by step guide on how to set it up? My outlook keeps reverting back to exchange.wrongdomain.name/EWS.exchange.asmx. Thank you

Hi ,

We can remove the provider to disable the AutoDiscover on the server side.

Following link is the method:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124250(v=exchg.80).aspx

But Microsoft does not recommend it strongly.

The provider is the component which knows more about the type of client that is trying to connect and be configured. When a request is placed to the AutoDiscover service determines which provider needs to handle the request.

Removing outlook provider will disable the AutoDiscover service for Microsoft Outlook.

Hope it is helpful

Thanks

Mavis
