Exchange 2007 Public Folder log files
I have Exchange 2007 on server 2k8, we have Public Folders setup and the log files are increasing...
We have replication setup to replicate to one other Exchange server at another site.
I guess the question I'm asking, how can I get rid of all the log files? Is there a maintenace job that should remove them?

Hi,
A full backup with an exchange aware backup program should purge these logfiles.

We don't currently do anything like that, my predicessor used Acronis to take an image of the server... no budget to change this at this stage. Can I delete the logs manually?

Hi,
It is not recommended, but you could do that. See:

Hi Leif, I would prefer not to do any of that, it is my understanding that these log files should 'clean' themselves up, or is this only after a full backup with an Exchange aware app? The server that these PF's replicate with does not have the issue
and is setup virtually identical.
A new is being created every minute. I have temp deleted the replica to the other server and disabled Journaling that we use, what else could be causing this?

Hi,
These logfiles will only be removed automatically by a backup.
If you are sure that you don't want to implement a backup solution now you could also consider configuring circular logging on the public folder databases.
