Exchange 2007 Resource - Default Behavior?
One of my users noticed something within Exchange 2007/Outlook 2007 with resource room bookings that seems a bit strange to me. I have our resource mailboxes configured to not allow for conflicts when booking. We have observed the following behaior:
User A books an all-day meeting on a particular date User A receives a confirmation that his meeting was accepted User B books a meeting anytime during the same date User B receives a message declining his meeting User B shows the meeting in his calendar at the time and date he specified (without the resource room)
I guess this can cause some confusion for people because if the meeting is a while away, they might not recall being declined from the resource and see the meeting in their calendar.
So my question....is this normal behavior? It seems like it could be since perhaps it's expected the meeting will still go on, just somwhere else. Is there any way around this with some sort of Outlook or Exchange setting/tweak?

Well, the meeting is still valid in some ways, it just means the resource mailbox wont be part of it I guess. :)
Does the Tracking for the meeting request still show it was declined?

Yes, I do receive a "Declined" message from the meeting room stating that there is a time conflict and it lists my meeting. I guess it kind of makes sense, I was just curious if this is a known issue and if there is a workaround of some sort.

Hi Schwagro,
Per my known, it is expected.
If we destine the room, we could use the Scheduling Assistant to check the room's free/busy information, and then confirm whether you will send the meetingrequest.
