Hi All, Just a FYI really. I tried installing with Rollup 8 in the Updates directory of my local binaries. No luck, install kept failing with a the "Failed starting service Microsoft Exchange Transport Log.." error.. After much Googling I tried installing the CCR cluster without the rollup in the Updates dir - and hey presto it installed fine. Just had to manually install the rollup after CCR installation complete. Cheers LM

The post above talks about the service not restarting after the Rollup install. As I mentioned if you install without the Rollup all is happy, just apply the Rollup after the install.

the problem was introduced with UR2 for SP1 and then removed with UR5 for SP1. (if I remember correct)so by installing SP1 first and then UR8 it should work.the fix is actually to change the configration files for the services having problem. I suspect that the fix is not applied during the installation but afterwards and therefore making you run into this problem.lasse at humandata dot se, http://anewmessagehasarrived.blogspot.com
