Hi all, Last Friday i tried to upgrade our production Exchange 2007 (64 bit) to SP1 without success. our exchange server hold all roles except edge tranport role. I got this error: Unified Messaging Server RoleFailed Error:Unable to remove product with code 84a6e864-10a5-47c0-ac31-426fe71e4906. Fatal error during installation. Error code is 1603. Last error reported by the .msi package is 'There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. '. Fatal error during installation Elapsed Time: 00:02:56 I tried to go start -> run MsiExec.exe /X {84a6e864-10a5-47c0-ac31-426fe71e4906} No success - i got faild massage. Any idia folks? I had exactly this error, on a similar configuration, but while updating the Mailbox role rather than UMS (and with a different GUID, of course). I got round it by manually stopping every Exchange-related service and rerunning the SP1 update, and this time it worked.
