Not sure which services/protocola used by BES on the beacked, it MAPI or IMAP?

MAPI. I don't think any version of BES has used IMAP.

BES uses MAPI. I don't think it's converted to Web Services yet. That's why it beats up te information store so much.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

The Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile is used to facilitate data communication between the Microsoft® Outlook® email
application and the Microsoft® Exchange Server. Within the BlackBerry® Solution Services, MAPI is used by the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server to communicate with the Microsoft® Exchange Server.

Thanks Evan, it helps. now i can turn off the IMAP as well as POP3 on the Exchange.
