Hi, I'm installing Exchange 2007 SP3 (x64) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine in the domain. I tried taking both Standard & Enterprise edition for Windows 2008 R2. My VMs are hosted on vmware. I see that steps 1 through 4 are greyed out since the pre-reqs are installed. surprisingly Exchange 2007 SP1 which is not supported on Windows 2008 R2 at least initiates for the setup whereas SP3 gives ExSetupUI error.Harry

I am sure your installation will go smooth if you do on fresh install OS If you want to change the SID on a Windows 2008 computer, you need to run Sysprep command. The issue was with the downloaded dump from Microsoft website - even though it was completely extractable. Strange... we did download 2times from different places/ISPs. Well, a different dump now works. & there is a size difference of 0.02 GB - so it was a Microsoft dump problem in the available Microsoft download site for sure...Harry
