Exchange 2007 Send Connector config
Our organization has two e-mail systems Exchange 2007 and Unix send mail. They share the same namespace for example abc.com. I found a bunch of articles on sharing a namespace and Exchange 2007. I set everything up on exchange as the articles suggest but for some reason exchange will not relay messages to the Unix server. I have two send connector configured "Internet Mail" which is set to * as the domain and cost =100 Then I have "abc.com Relay" send connector that is set to send to the Unix mail server for the abc.com domain. Its cost is set to 1. So if exchange can't find the mailbox it should relay the message to the unix server using the "abc.com Relay" send connector. When looking at the exchange logs, messages sent to abc.com that should go through the "abc.com Relay" send connector are going through the "Internet Mail" connector. Any ideas why this would be happening? Is there another way to set the priority of a send connector so that it will work? Thanks for any help.

Is there another way to set the priority of a send connector so that it will work? The cost, in this case, is unimportant. What IS important is the contents of the "Address Space" tab on the send connector and whether that connector is enable or disabled. If you really have "abc.com" in the address space of the 2nd send connector then every e-mail to that domain should be sent through that connector. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi, You can configure the send connector to deliver the mails by using a Unix: 1. Make sure that your exchange hub transport server or Edge server is in the allow relay list of the Unix server. 2. On hub transport or edge server, open the properties of send connector. In Network tab, select “Route mail through the following hosts”. 3. Click Add button to add the IP address of your Unix server server.
