Exchange 2007 Trial License
I have had to reinstall my trial of Exchange 2007, subsequently I no longer have my trial key which was in an email. The server says its still valid fopr 119 days but it has said that for several weeks :-) The analyzer says its expired and obviously I have a reduced service - basically it dont work! How can I retrieve a new key, please dont say i have to download the whole thing again, which triggers an automated email I appreciate your assistance Regards Carlovski (Russian Guru)

From where you got the Exchange 2007 product? If you have TechNet subscription then you can get one from download center... But if you have 32bit edition of Exchange then it doesn't have any licence key and it works fine even after expiration... Exchange Server 2007: Platforms, Editions, and Versions http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232170.aspx "When you install Exchange2007, it is unlicensed and referred to as a Trial Edition. Unlicensed (Trial Edition) servers appear as Standard Edition, and they are not eligible for support from Microsoft Product Support Services. The Trial Edition expires 120 days after the date of installation. When you start the Exchange Management Console, if you have any unlicensed Exchange2007 servers in your organization, Exchange displays a list of all unlicensed Exchange2007 servers and the number of days that are remaining until the Trial Edition expires. If you have expired unlicensed Exchange2007 servers, you also see a separate warning for each expired server. No loss of functionality will occur when the Trial Edition expires, so you can maintain lab, demo, training, and other non-production environments beyond 120 days without having to reinstall the Trial Edition of Exchange2007. You can even upgrade an expired Trial Edition of Exchange2007 RTM to SP1."Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi Amit,I downloaded it from the 2007 Microsoft site. Originally when i downloaded the 32 bit package, I was sent a trial key to my email account, i also applied it.I did have it running on a windows server 2003 standard etc, now I am running it on the same but within vmware rather than a physical server. So now i know that it is a trial but also classed as a standard edition. Thanks for the heads up Amit. Its just confusing when you login and see the dialogue box that it has 119 days remaning and that its unlicensed. Many thanksCarl
