Exchange 2007 disabled services
I rebooted our exchange 2007 SP1 server this morning and when it came back our users were not able to reconnect and OWA was down. I checked services.msc and all the service related to Exchange/IIS were disabled. I went through and started all that were necessary and set them to automatic. I'm trying to figure out what caused this...so I checked my automatic updates history. In the history there are two entries for Update rollup 7. The first one:Exchange Server 2007
Update Rollup 7 for Exchange Server 2007
Service Pack 1 (KB960384)
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Automatic Updates The second one:Exchange Server 2007
Update Rollup 7 for Exchange Server 2007
Service Pack 1 (KB960384)
Friday, March 27, 2009
Automatic Updates It appears that the update successfully installed on Wednesday...But then failed on Friday??? Im a little confused by this? Is this what caused my services to be disabled?A+, N+, MCP

MJJones,There are several factors why Exchange Services may not start. For your case the rollup installation problem seems to be a problem. I can recommend installing the roll up package manually. I presume you are running windws server 2003 for Exchange. If you want to dig this down further you can also take a look at application log and the hotfix installation logs in your system folders (Do not rememberthe exact location, sorry!) to check what went wrong during the installation.M-Milind Naphade

I was just reading the update forum and it looks like this is common...Should have checked there first. A+, N+, MCP
