Exchange 2007 identity Change. Wrong name
hi,When I connect Outlook to Exchange 2007, the server name is set as exchange.localdomain.local in Outlook setup screen.is there anyway to make exchange server use a different server name, one that i want to assign with DNS instead, example:mail.mydomain.com?in summary is it possible to change the name of Exchange 2007 from "exchange.localdomain.local" to "mail.mydomain.com"?without actually moving the windows server to mydomain.com domain and naming the server "mail"?thank you,CF

The name that is shown in outlook is the windows server name of the Exchange server. Te only way to change this is to name your Exchange server with a different name. This can only be done before you install Exchange
