Exchange 2007 installation and RPC
Hi,
I have a rather odd problem which Im struggling to find a solution, let me explain as well as I can and hopefully someone here can help me. We have a 10 user Exchange 2007 setup which has been working internally perfectly fine for a few months now. The server is called GALAXY and is on our AD domain called CHELCO.LOCAL from what I can tell that makes the internal FQDN galaxy.chelco.local.
Now recently we have added 2 more users who need remote access to the system, ok I thought just enable RPC over HTTPS and off we go ... how wrong was I! I have done the following steps but so far the RPC isn't working
1. Used add/remove to add the RPC
2. Set the registry to 'galaxy:6001-6002;galaxy.chelco.local:6001-6002;galaxy:6004;galaxy.chelco.local:6004'
3. Opened up and used NAT on ports 80,443,6001-6004
Now the only problem I have (well maybe?) is that my external FQDN is mail.xxx.com which is obviously different, do I need to adjust the registry at all?
If I go to add an account I get the error stating
"The action could not be completed. The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete the action"
Is there a way to find out where this is going wrong? or to test the indvidual parts. If I go to mail.xxx.com/owa this shows and works as intended.

Hi,
Ive followed that guide and done the troubleshooting and it appears I can no longer use a self signed cert like I could with Exhange 2003, is there any method of getting a free cert? if not which ones from GoDaddy work? (cheapest I do believe?)
Thanks
Mike
