Exchange 2007 mail enabling public folder problems
Althought we have mail enabled public folders in 2007 in the past, when we've tried to do it lately, it is not working. Or let me clarify, the mail enable command works but we cannot set-mailpublicfolder commands because of the following error: The Active Directory proxy object for the public folder is being generated. please try again later. We have waited an hour and still nothing. What causes this? FYI - we recently installed message queuing on this server with AD integration (this is required for an application we will soon be running). Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem.. no one have a solutionor a clue? Anyone ? After searching, I found that the problems is "Microsoft Exchange System Attendant" service wich never start at startup even if set as "automatic" or even die silently. so before sending shell commands or creating users, allways verify if this service is still running. In our case : 1) re-start "Microsoft Exchange System Attendant" 2) disable public folder. (Disable-MailPublicFolder "\YourFolderHere") 3) redo enable (Enable-MailPublicFolder "\YourFolderHere") 4) issue the remaining commands with success Set-MailPublicFolder -Identity "\YourFolderHere" -EmailAddressPolicyEnabled 0Set-MailPublicFolder -Identity "\YourFolderHere" -PrimarySMTPAddress YourFolderHere@yourdomain.com Hope SP1 will help us, poor IT guys fighting against stupid software
