Exchange 2007 public folder incomming email automatically deleted with subject content
We are running exchange 2007 sp1 which was migrated from 2003. We have Public folder where some email with some specific word in the subject line is getting deleted automatically. I checked message tracking from exchange console and saw that the mail was received by exchange server but then no clue where the mail is. I send a different email with a different subject line, and it is coming to public folder(public folder has a email address). Is there any way I can know how the email is getting deleted automatically ? monir

What is happenning is, say for example, our mail domain is: contoso.com. I have email address xxx@contoso.com. Now I send an email to fff@contoso.com (Public folder email address) with a subject line "This is Monir". So I am receiving the email in the public folder fine. But if I use the subject line "He is a good guy" and send it to fff@contoso.com, the email is not comming to public folder. The public folder has read access to all member in the organization. No clue where and how the email with few words in the subject line is getting deleted automatically !!!!monir

But even as I said before, email with internal email to pf had been disappeared for some reason and no clue where I can go to see which role is deleting with some words in the subject line of the email. Many thanks for your reply. monir

The message tracking logs shold be a place to begin. If it's happening in the transport pipeling you could use pipeline tracing and see where the message stops. If you have no 3rd-party AntiSpam and the anti-spam agents aren't installed on the HT servers then there's nothing native to Exchange that will remove a message based on the subject content. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

hi, Only your public folder meet the issue, is it right? Do you have some rules to limit the content for your public folder. If it is the software delete the message, it should be all include your users' message. But don't worry, pipeline tracing also can record the action that your rule do. So you should do the below action Check the message tracking. Then check the pipeline tracing. About pipeline tracing you can see:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125198(EXCHG.80).aspx hope can help you thanks, CastinLu TechNet Community Support
