Exchange 2007 setup question
Hi,
I am planning to install exchange 2007 (new organisation, migrating from domino) in our company. We have 2 physical locations (one active directory site), and there will be one exchange server on each location. Following is what i want:
Use CCR to replicate mailboxes on both server, so that if one server fails, all users can still access their mailboxes on the other server.
Add MX records for both mail servers in dns with priority 10 and 20, so that if one server fails, the other still receives mail from internet.
My question is, how i should setup exchange. Should it be a "typical" setup on both servers, or custom setup? I have 2 windows 2003 server x64 editions ready.
Any help will be highly appriciated.... thanks.
Regards

Install on the primary/active node first and choose custom install. You will then be presented with several options.....select active node and when you clicknext you will see the options for the type of cluster and here you will select CCR cluster
here's a link to custom install on microsoft site
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125143.aspx
here's a link with print screens of CCR install

good luck with it

If you cluster your mailbox servers they cannot hold anu other Exchange roles, HUB and CAS must be installed on another server, prefferably 2 of them, making total of 4 servers for redundancy.
