Exchange 2007 some mail not getting to recipients inside building
Hi, We have just deployed a Windows Server 2008/Exchange Server 2007 machine, and mail flow appears to be working, with the exception of a couple of people who send to mailboxes on this server. Nothing from them comes in to the building, including read receipts or freshly created emails. It worked prior to Exchange 2007 going in. It's a single server scenario, with no message size limits (as large attachments need to get through). This is located behind a sonicwall email security device. I have checked the SPAM logs here, but these messages are not held up in here. Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Jeroen, I assume from your sentence "Nothing from them comes in to the building" that you have multiple sites and some mails are not coming from one Exchange 2003 server to your new Exchange 2007 server. If it is not correct then please describe your environment. Id check message tracking log to find that message has reached to Exchange 2007 server if reached then where it stuck. Hi, Thank you for your reply. This is a single server, single office scenario. Previously this client was on SBS2000, but due to the age of the server and the need to move to Terminal server an upgrade was performed. (read: replacement of all gear.) There is a single Exchange server 2007 machine that gets it's email directly from the Internet (MX1 record points to WAN IP of site). This works for me, I.E. I can email my client. But for some overseas clients nothing comes in for them. They export to Asia, and their sales manager expects a number of emails from overseas every day. Since the new equipment has gone in he hasn't received anything from them. We have tested the overseas client sending to a private email addy (pop box) and this works fine. Is there some selective filtering Exchange 2007 does? My client already runs a Sonicwall Email security appliance which filters SPAM (we have checked the logs there, and nothing gets blocked from Asia) so there is no need for Exchange to perform any additional filtering. I hope this makes sense :-) Cheers, J

Hello, Since you have only one Exchange 2007 server and mailflow configured from there means your Hub transport server is configured for internet mail flow but by default Anti-Spam agent is disabled on it. So suggest you to check the message tracking log to check the message has reached to Exchange environment or its being blocked before that at Sonicwall.
