I would suggest Exchange 2007 SP3 as its the latest release, done many of these the past 3 months.

Yes you can directly run setup of service pack for exchange installation. SP's hold all binaries.Best Rgds, Ashish | Unified Comunication | MCTS | MCITP | Please remember to select option "Propose As Answer" if solution work for you | My posts hold no assurances, no promises, and they measured no rights.

Hi Elie,
Based on my experience, if your Windows SBS 2008 is the version of Windows Small Business Server 2008 Premium or Windows Small Business Server 2008 Standard(used with
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Edition or Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Standard Edition), you need tool to automatically install Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2. Please refer to Tim’s links.
As the Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 has been published, I suggest you to install this latest updates instead of Service Pack 2. You can follow this document
to install Exchange 2007 sp3 on Windows SBS 2008:
