Exchange 2010 - Adding additional domain/organisation
Hi there! I have finally managed to deployed my Exchange 2010 enterprise server. However it only has my default host name as the domain, eg. server1.mydomain.com. I am trying to add another domain, eg, 2nddomain.com to be used on the exchange server. however when I tried to add new mail account, the only extension available is @mydomain.com but not 2nddomain.com, although I have already added it as the accepted domain. I tried to select other Organization Unit, but all I can see is the default one, eg: server01.mydomain.com. May I know do I have to add another Organization unit to use the 2nd domain? How can I do that? Thanks so much!! :)

Hi, Did you remember to add the domain to your E-mail policy? /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.

Yes, I added 2nddomain.com in Email Policy, under "Email Addresses", however it is not selectable from the drop down, as only my hostname is selectable, (eg. @server.mydomain.com) when i create a new mailbox. However, when I go to properties of the Mailbox that is created, the additional domain is listed there. Is that normal?Jackson Yap APC Hosting http://www.apc.sg/

If you create a new mailbox from the management console you specify the UPN and not the E-mail address. The E-mail address should be assigned according to your policies. So if you base the policy on organizational units it will get the E-mail policy based on the location of the user in Active Directory. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.

You are probably still having the Update automatically based on e-mail policy marked on the user. This means that every time the policy is applied it adds the domains listed in the policy created. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.
