I just read that we are losing single instance storage in Exchange 2010. Is there a utility that scans Exchange 2007 databases and questimates what storage requirements will be in Exchange 2010 with SIS being gone? Thanks Ron

Hi As stated in http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2010/02/22/454051.aspx you can see: "The result was that SIS no longer provided any real space savings - typically only about 0-20%" So estimate with 30% and you are on the safe side :) Regards Matjaz

The Exchange Profile Analyzer will give you some clues but I just work on a general rule of expecting 20-50% growth migrating to Exchange 2010, plus 20-50% faster growth on an ongoing basis. There is no rule of thumb. You can run get-mailboxstatistics -server server1 and add up the totalitemsize column. This number is the true value and not a computation leveraging SIS.
