Exchange 2010 - MailTips custom disable

Hi,

We have been requested to turn off the MailTip message - "XXX is moderated. Messages sent to it might be rejected or not appear immediately" for our moderated groups. We would like to keep all the other MailTips.

Is there any way to do this without turning off all MailTips? We also then see the text "MailTips could not be retrieved" message which is confusing our clients....

Can it not be editted via Registry or something that can be pushed to our organisation?

Hi John,

You can configure the Group Metrics

Group metrics data provides information on the size of distribution groups and dynamic distribution groups. The exchange query many LDAP requests to ActiveDirectory to get group membership information. This could affect the the performance, and to eliminate this issue Exchange 2010 uses the Group Metric Data which can be set to run during low-activity hours.

ENABLE: Set-MailboxServer {server} -GroupMetricsGenerationEnabled $true

DISABLE: Set-MailboxServer {server} -GroupMetricsGenerationEnabled $false

Disabling Group Metrics will not stop Mailtips about moderation.

What you can do is to configure moderation in transport rules instead of directly on the groups.
That way moderation will take place during transit and users will not see any MailTips it Outlook.
