Exchange 2010 Authentication
I have a user that logs onto the local domain (AD) which currently gives them direct access to their email Outlook 2007. This user would like to be able to log in as usual to
the domain but would like an additional logon with a different password to be able to log into Outlook.
Anyone run into this or can give me an idea as to how I might accomplish this?
I am using server 2008 w/AD, Exchange 2010 and
Outlook 2007 or OWA.

Move their e-mail to a different user account that has a different password.
That answers your requirements, but I think it's a stupid idea.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Even if it were possible, it would be what I call "bullbleep security" (without the redacted wording). That is, someone could just bypass Outlook on the machine or create another profile to gain access. There's a reason why it "can't be
done", and that's because it's probably pointless. Do you have a business case for this, or is your user just trying to avoid having to lock his machine or otherwise protect his data?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi,
That's not possible. To authenticate Exchange server, it uses the Windows Credential of the user account which can only has one password.
Thanks
