Exchange 2010 DAG SAN Maintenance
We're running Exchange 2010 DAG and need to maintain our SAN where passive copies of the databases reside. We'd like to leave Exchange up and running. What's the best way to ensure that once the SAN maintenance is completed, there will be no issues with the database copies? Can I get away with just suspending the database copies and then resuming? Do I also need to disconnect the LUNs from the mailbox servers? Thanks.

Hi, Use the startdagservermaintenance and the stopdagservermaintenance scripts found in the scripts folder. Unless the SAN maintenance does something to the LUN's the database copies should be fine. Leif

Thanks for your response Leif. On the same servers I have active copies on direct attached storage that will remain available. Is there a way to just put only the SAN attached copies in some type of maintenance mode?

Hi, Then there is only the suspend command available (that should still give the desired result) Leif
