We have Exchange 2007 deployed in our ORG . We have a remote office with a new requirement for Exchange and I am considering Exchange 2010 for just that office. Apart from updating our schema can Exchange 2007 work with Exchange 2010 in the same Exchange 2007 ORG - Is there anything I need to think about or is it as simple as i think?

Is the remote office internet-facing? In other words, will you expose the 2010 CAS to the Internet? You'll have to. You can't proxy connections from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. You'll also need to make sure that the 2010 installation has the hub , cas and mbx role installed.
