Exchange 2010 Error 2147467259 when importing mailboxes
I just set up a new exchange 2010 server. I'm now in the process of trying to import users .pst files into it (we had pop mail before). Using the 'Import-Mailbox' cmdlet failed until I added the 'Exchange Mailbox Import Export' and 'Exchange Support Diagnostics'
groups. It now allows me to use the cmdlet but I get a new error. Any help you guys can give will be greatly appreciated!
Here is a copy of the message given in the Exchange Management Shell:

Specilly the Mike Crowley's reply.
The error seems like a known issue. Maybe you can try to install Outlook on a mailbox role server and run the cmdlet.Frank Wang

Hi,
You can also try run as administrator for exchange shell & run the same command & check if it works or not.Ripu Daman Mina | MCSE 2003 & MCSA Messaging

Thank you for the replies. I'm very new to exchange, so I want to be sure I know how to do this.
So basically I install the mailbox server role and outlook 2010 on a 2008 server and then import the pst files with the import-mailbox cmdlet. Do I then copy the mailboxes from that server to the exchange server or how do I go about doing that?

Hi,
So if you install the mailbox server role and outlook 2010 on a 2008 server and then import the pst files with the import-mailbox cmdlet, the import-mailbox cmdlet works now, right?
If you import mailbox successfully, the data in the pst file has been imported to the mailbox.
You don't need to copy the mailboxes from that server to the exchange server. Check the mailbox whether data is in there or not.Frank Wang
