I have 4 mailbox servers, distributed in 2 geographically dispersed sites, 2 mailbox server per site, one DAG per site. I have one public folder DB in each mailbox server, and all the PF DB's replicate to each other, i have 3 mailbox DB's total, that replicate in a ctive-active config for Site A, and active - passive for Site B Site A i have 2 mailbox databases Active-Active DAG, and 2 public folder databases. srv1mbdb1,srv2mbdb1, and srv1pfdb1, srv2pfdb1, the default public folder for both mailbox DB's is srv1pfdb1, so both db's are pointed to the the PF DB in server 1 In Site B, there is only one mailbox DB, Active-Passive DAG and 2 public folder DB's. So i have srv3mb1db1, and srv3pfdb1 and srv4pfdb1, the default public folder for this mailbox DB, is also the one in srv1mbdb1. Running ExBPA, is telling me that the default public folder for the mailbox DB in site B is remote. What would be the best approach to setup the mailbox default public folder for the mailbox client settings ? In my current config, all mailbox DB's are pointing to the same PF DB in server 1 since i have 3 different mailbox DB's, should i point each one of them to their local Public folder DB ? Or should i keep all 3 of them pointed to the same PF DB in server 1, even though srv3mbdb1 is in a different site, WAN connected. I'm trying to mitigate what Expba is complaining about. If you have public folders on a local server then configure the database to use that one instead. Otherwise I fail to see the point. In the event of a DAG failover for an extended period of time you can just change the Public Folder database on the properties of the mailbox database. Simon.
