Exchange 2010 OWA, Active Sync, Outlook Anywhere with Public Internet IPs
Hi Guys. With Exchange 2010 and its wealth of features including Outlook Anywhere, OWA and Active Sync. IS it best to have all of these features configured on different public internet based IP addresses ? Our network here has a block allocation of 5 usable IP addresses. One is used for incoming mail. The other 4 available are really unused. Or can they all be conbined to use the same IP address as incoming mail via the domains MX record ? Thanks for any reply.

I see no benefit in using multiple IP addresses. Single IP address, single host name is that is required. You could use multiple IP addresses, but it would be a waste and doesn't add anything but complexity. You only need two DNS records as well - the MX record host name, which can also be used for everything else, and autodiscover.example.com - all pointing to the same IP address. The only time I would use different IP addresses is if I was using different servers. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources
