Exchange 2010 SP1, Project Server 2010 Task Sync
I have followed the instructions and have tasks succesfully syncing to my Outlook clients, however nothing I do in my Outlook client will sync back to the Project Server. I found another thread related to this issue on the forum saying to Add the exchange CAS server to the local domain for permissions on the SharePoint front end and have done so, but the error remains. A notification for subscription [FwBleDEucml2ZXJwb2ludGZhcm1zLmNvbRAAAAAq87PT4kkHR7LK5S8EHY5glaEFvp9NzQg=] against endpoint [http://portal.domain.com/PWA/_vti_bin/PSI/ExchangeSync.asmx] couldn't be sent. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks

There was a similar question posted here in September that seemed to be resolved as I mentioned because it's where I got the idea to add the exchange server to the local permissions. It is the only other thing I have found on the net associated with this problem, so I figured this was the relavent forum. Thanks

Any insight is greatly appreciated. The error code 500 isn't an authentication error. it's a server error. You'll have to look to the ExchangeSync.asmx code for what's going on. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

I seem to have got it work, although to be honest I am unsure of how. Where exactly can I locate the ExchangeSync.asmx file? I have looked high and low, and have been unable to find it and browsing the URL doesn't yield anything. Thanks a bunch.

I figured as much, but a search only yields ExchangeSync.svc. I have looked all over for the file, but I simply can't find it and when browsing the ExchangeSync.svc using notepad, it only yields a security token and some other lines of text that seem to have no affliation with the asmx file. I'm quite curious now as I still see the Event ID 6 and 7 errors on my Exchange server and yet task syncrhonzation works. Thanks a bunch.

Hi, I have this kind of problem as well (event log on the exchange server showing internal server error 500 when sync back to project server). I enable fault tracing in IIS7 hosting the sharepoint and sharepoint web service and found out that ExchangeSync.asmx was trying to access a service in SendNotification.svc but the file does not exist. The following is part of the trace log from sharepoint website. 16. i URL_CACHE_ACCESS_START RequestURL="/PWA/_vti_bin/PSI/ExchangeSync.asmx" 00:46:22.823 341. GENERAL_RESPONSE_ENTITY_BUFFER Buffer="<s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><s:Body><s:Fault><faultcode xmlns:a="http://Microsoft.Office.Project.Server">a:ProjectServerFaultCode</faultcode><faultstring>Unhandled Communication Fault occurred</faultstring><detail><string xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/">There was no endpoint listening at http://fswebsvr:32843/2bd43298c96d4ea9b894f86a11661931/PSI/SendNotification.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.</string></detail></s:Fault></s:Body></s:Envelope>" The following is part of the trace log from sharepoint web service. It happen at almost the same time. 16. i URL_CACHE_ACCESS_START RequestURL="/2bd43298c96d4ea9b894f86a11661931/PSI/SendNotification.svc" 00:46:28.099 28. r MODULE_SET_RESPONSE_ERROR_STATUS Warning ModuleName="ServiceModel", Notification="AUTHENTICATE_REQUEST", HttpStatus="404", HttpReason="Not Found", HttpSubStatus="0", ErrorCode="The operation completed successfully. (0x0)", ConfigExceptionInfo="" 00:46:28.099 So, anybody know where SendNotification.svc is?? FYI, I am using Project Server 2010 and Exchange Server 2010 sp1 on Windows 2008 R2, all 64 bit. Thankss

Just to update. I manage to solve this problem by copying ExchangeSync.svc into SendNotification.svc. Currently, the synchronization is running without any problem.
