Exchange 2010 SP2 Recipient email address incorrectly
Hi, Exchange 2010 SP2 Recipient email address incorrectly On our exchange server, prashant@company.com does not exist, but we have one contact Prashant Nikam with alias prashant and mailid prashant@external.com So, above mail received by other valid recipients show Prashant Nikam in To field as shown above. And double clicking Prashant Nikam in To field of this mail shown Invalid Display Name and Invalid Email Id as under: /O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=Prashant Nikam6d5 regards Sameer Shaikh

Hi Sameer, I am a little confuse on the scenario described. If Parashant Nikam received the email message? Then what's your concern? If there is NDR on invalid email ID, then delete Outlook nickname cach and then try again. Hope it is helpful. Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support

lets say i am also in the same email in cc: sameer@company.com if i click on Prashant Nikam to see his email adress, it shows me the address "/O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=Prashant Nikam6d5" insted of prashant@external.com.regards Sameer Shaikh

Thanks. So the true email address of Prashant Nikam is prashant@external.com, but your users cannot send email to Prashant Nikam when type Prashant Nikam in To field, right? It seems like there is a duplicated user in your Exchange organization, please run cmdlet below: Get-Mailbox -id "Prashant Nikam" Get-User -id "Prashant Nikam" If there is user returned, remove it and then try again to send email in OWA. Hi Sameer, Thanks for your update. Does the issue (check the contact's display name and email address from another internal user's message) occurs in a new email message or a old email message?
