Im getting below error when upgrading with Exchange 2010 Sp3. Please assist.

Couldn't remove product with code 4934d1ea-be46-48b1-8847-f1af20e892c1. Fatal error during installation. Error code is 1603.

You might want to search the registry for that GUID to see what "product" it is.  Maybe that will give you a clue how to proceed fixing it.

my registry search ends up here - C:\Windows\Installer\{4934D1EA-BE46-48B1-8847-F1AF20E892C1}\

but there is no folder with the name installer in C:\windows.. how to find the product

I'm following the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2784788/en-us and Im able to to figure out the missing .msp files

My Exchange server installed with below Update Rollups

• Exchange 2010 SP1
• SP1 Update Rollup 2 
• SP1 Update Rollup 3
• SP1 Update Rollup 3 V3

SP3 installation trying to uninstal all these rollup and the old installation directory or the c:\windows\installer dont have those installation files which is causing the issue.

Im able to download SP1 Update Rollup 2 & SP1 Update Rollup 3 V3, but the SP1 Update Rollup 3 is not available in microsoft download center. 

If possible.. can you help me get the KB2492690 (SP1 Update Rollup 3) using skydrive etc 

You shouldn't need Rollup 3, as it was pulled and replaced by Ro

I might be wrong, however, upon further reflection the uninstaller may be looking for the nonexistent CU3 (CU3v0).  If that's the case, I would call Microsoft Support and request help on how to uninstall it if it can't be uninstalled via Programs and Features.

As you have found, the error is caused by that .msp installer files correlating to all the Update Rollups are not present in the c:\windows\installer folder.

Based on my research, there is no Microsoft article about the hotfix of  KB2492690 (SP1 Update Rollup 3). Because our Exchange Team pulled the download due to issues with integration with Blackberry.

Thank you for the valuable support.

I managed to get the SP1 RU3 file from a friend and copied that file to C:\Windows\Installer.. Now the installation went well without any errors.
