I have a customer Upgrading from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and one feature or capability they would like to implement is Instant Messaging integration with Office Communications Server. I'm having a hard time finding details on how to integrate Exchange 2010 with OCS for ONLY the IM capabilities. Some questions: - What version of OCS is required for IM only? (standard or enterprise) - Do I need to install the Exchange UM role if I am only interested in IM integration? - Do I need an "Outlook Live" component, or can I just install OCS integration components on the Exchange 2010 CAS server? - What clients are able to access the IM integration features? I believe that any version of OCS will integrate with Outlook 2007 and up, but I know that OCS 2007 R2 will work well, and you can deploy either Standard or Enterprise. Exchange UM is voice mail and has nothing to do with IM.
