Exchange 2010 and mail receiving multiple
Hello
everyone,
I wanted to
ask you
a question
which
my little experience
can not
give
an answer,
I have
Outlook
2007 with
several
email accounts
set up,
the
incoming emails
are automatically
distributed
in various
folders
of belonging, having
installed
a
new sbs2011
server,
configured
the
smart host
is
that the
pop3
connector
to receive
all
pre-existing
account,
I can not
understand
how
to channel it
into different folders
in
outlook
had implemented
only
a single
Exchange
account,
and
especially
how to
send
email from
a
specific
account
through
exchange,
I
heard that
there are
distribution lists,
but
I do not know
how they work
and especially
if they are
in my case.
Look
with confidence
for your response,
and
thank you very much
for any interested parties.

Hello Tonine73,
There are number of ways you can do this, however the way I would go with it is like this;
1. Create the Exchange account in Outlook 2007 as your default account, and use the rules for this account.
2. Create an IMAP account (that way it doesn't download your email out of your mailbox and empty it) and set it up using SMTP for the next address you wish to use.
Once this is created you can press on Send and Receive, then Send and Receive Groups followed by Define Send and Receive Groups.
Select All Accounts and click edit, and then select the new account you just made.
Remove the tick from the Receive mail items option, click OK, click Close.
3. Create a Distribution Group for the Address you require (and add your user as a member), so that when Outlook (Exchange connection) downloads the mail, you can see it as the email address of the group. I found that if you do it as a mailbox alias, then it
mapped to the mailbox as the default address of the mailbox. You will need to set this to externally email-able, as by default it is internal only.
4. Create Send As permissions for your user on that distribution group.
This should then allow mail to arrive in your mailbox, you should be able to do a rule based on the to address and also allow you to send out as that address to people :)
I hope this helps.
Regards
CJ.

I would also look into upgrading to Outlook 2010 it has almost full functionality for running multiple accounts in single profile. The article says supports 3 accounts by default but you can up it by reghack.
