Exchange 2010 config with multiple email domains
I’m setting up a new SBS 2011 Standard server for a customer with multiple email domains. I set up server with initial domain and all is fine there. Only have two users right now, a SysAdmin and me. Looking at the Mailboxes under Receiptient Configuration in EMC, SysAdmin has two email addresses, sysadmin@company.com and sysadmin@company.local. My account only has john@company.com. Following technet doc, I go to the Hub Transport under the Organization Configuration in EMC and add Company2.com as an Accepted Domain. I then create a new email policy, leave "all recipient types" selected, choose Company2 as the Accepted Domain when adding the SMTP Email Address. It takes, I then choose Apply Policy immediately and it finishes successfully. When I go to the users, I see Company2.Com now on both SysAdmin and myself, which I would expect. (still do not see the .local for me but not worried about that right yet). I noticed that it made Company2 the default email address for both, so I went back into Email Policies and changed the priority and re-applied each and that changed the default to the correct Company.com email address. All good so far. However, I added the rest of the users and they only get Company.Com email addresses and no Company2.Com addresses. So I went back into the policies and edited the Company2 one and saved it and reapplied it successfully, nothing happened to the user accounts. I then deleted the policy and re-created/re-applied it and then everyone had Company2.com as well as Company.Com in the list of email addresses. I then added a test users and it only grabbed Company.Com again, no Company2.com. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? It's like the policies are available but not automatically applying when I create users. I must be missing a simple setting somewhere. All three email polices are set to Applied (the Default - .local, SBS - Company.Com and Company2.Com) in the EMC display. Thanks, JohnJohn B

Hi, Since it is a SBS environement, with a lot of other applications, I recommend you to post the issue in Small Buisness Server forum to get better help. Small Business Server forum http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver/threads Personally, I would recommend you to check “Automatically update e-mail addresses based on e-mail address policy”.Also I recommend you to create new user from EMC. Hi Xiu, I have reposted in SBS. FYI, I do have the "Automatically update..." setting set on each user. It's like the 2003 Recipient Update Service counterpart in 2010 is not configured to automatically run at some specified period. Thanks, JohnJohn B
