Hi, I have installed new Exchange Server 2010 in Active Directory site called Site-B. Site-B has own DC which holds also GC. Both servers (DC and Exchange) are running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2 SP1. After Exchange installation everything worked alright, but when I tried install SP1 for Exchange then setup during installation failed with error that could not start Exchange Services. I used Exchange Management Troubleshooter and I discovered that my problem is written in this Microsoft´s KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028305 I also found this website: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2010/02/04/3409289.aspx I followed the instruction-everything in the system is as should be according those manuals, but still have the same problem. ERRORS: 1/ when I tried start EMC or EMS I got this error: VERBOSE: Connecting to myexchangeserver.domain.local [myexchangeserver.domain.local] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client cannot proc ess the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content t ype is absent or invalid. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. + CategoryInfo : OpenError: (System.Manageme....RemoteRunspace:RemoteRunspace) [], PSRemotingTransportExc eption + FullyQualifiedErrorId : PSSessionOpenFailed 2/ When I want to start Exchange services like MS Exchange Information Store etc. I got this error: Windows could not start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on myexchangeserver. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified. EventID is 7000 I get this error everytime when I try start some Exchange service which is down-for example IMAP4, Mail Submition and others. From the main services I have running only SMTP-> MS Transport service. Could you someone give me and idea how I have to fix it, please? Thanks.

Hi, For WinRM issue you must see below post to troubleshoot this. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchange2010/thread/51b9f958-0ed4-45d4-a0f4-b853f0ade2e2 For the services does not start is looking issue of time out issue with you DC/GC from Exchange 2010 Box, to increase time out value , Go into Regedit->HKLM->System->Current_Control_Set->Create a New DWORD Value->ServicePipeTimeOut->Value=60000=Decimal. You can increase value according to your requirement .. Test it and update the status. Hi, registry update did not help. I was also calling to Microsoft, but they are working on it 2 days withou success. I suppose that the main problem will be on IIS, but I am not really sure and also I have no idea how to fix it... :-/ Petr Weiner

Microsoft guy called me that I have to remove Exchange Server from organization handly (delete instalation on the server handly) and also edit AD via ADSI... (remove info about Exchange from AD). I´m going to do backup of AD and server and then hope that I will be successfull. I will leave the memo here when it will be done. Petr Weiner

Hi, I find the solutin and fix it before Microsoft (they recommend me the same thing I did) 1/ I stopped all exchange service on the machine, remove them from registry-below is the manual from: http://msgsense.com/2011/01/18/manually-uninstall-last-exchange-2010-server-from-organization/ WARRNING: IF YOU ARE OTHER EXCHANGE SERVERS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION YOU CAN DO ONLY POINTS 1-18! YOU MUST NOT DO CHANGES IN THE ACTIVE DIRECTORY AS IS WRITTEN IN THIS TOPIC. I WILL WRITE HOW TO REMOVE ONLY THE ONE EXCHANGE SERVER FROM AD at the end of this page. Prepare for Manual Un-Installation: 1. Take System State Backup of your Active directory 2. Take Exchange Database Flat file Copy (OR) Backup 3. Make a Note of All your Mailbox Database names, Organization names, MRM Details, MRM Retention Tag Details, MRM Retention Policy Details, OWA Mailbox Policy details, Exchange Active sync Mailbox Policy details, Email Address Policy Details, Transport Rules, Journal Rules, Send/Receive Connector Details, Global Settings, UM Settings etc. 4. Restart the Exchange Server. 2/ I did all 18th steps as is written in the manual then we have removed the exchange handly from the machine. 3/ Now it is time to remove the Exchange server from Active Directory (best practise-remove this record from primary DC (first installed DC in organization) and force the replication process. Delete the object written below: Start ADSIEdit.msc and navigate to CN=Configuration, CN=Services, CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=<Your Organization Name>, CN=Administrative Groups, CN= <Exchange 2010 Administrative Group>, CN=Servers, CN=<Server Name>, and then delete the server object. 4/ Force the replication and wait and check if it is done. 5/ install new Exchange 2010 Server (best practise: install the server with new FQDN (do not use the old one))Petr Weiner
