Exchange 2010 get command not working
Hi Trying to run the command to get the database sizes and the command does not work. Command I'm running is: "Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | select ServerName,Name,DatabaseSize" This gives the error: "You must provide a value for this property. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Get-MailboxDatabase], DataValidationException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 15C88932,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.GetMailboxDatabase" For some reason it seems to not like the "-status" option. If I try without the -status option (Get-MailboxDatabase | fl servername, name, databasesize) it runs but all the values for databasesize are blank. The command has worked in the past but don't know when it stopped. I get the same result whichever server I run it on. Only thing that has changed since I know it definitely worked is the installation of SP1, which is now on all servers. Doubt if this is the problem but, as I said, it's the only thing I can think of which has changed. We have 2xCAS servers and 3xDatabase servers set up in a DAG. All the "live" databases are on one server but there are other default and test databases on the other servers which give the same results. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Hi jarweb, If you just run the cmdlet Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | fl, can you see the value of DatabaseSize? Can you open the Properties of database in the EMC? Please run the EXBPA in the Toolbox.Frank Wang

Hi Thanks for your reply. This gives the same error: "You must provide a value for this property" etc I can get the properties of the database in the EMC - but the size isn't listed in there. I'll run the BPA as soon as I can Regards

Hi jarweb, Any updates on you issue? Please run ADSIEDIT.MSC to check whether there is old database still listed in the CN=Databases container, if yes, please delete it . Hi After a bit of trial and error I've discovered that the command actually works if I specifiy a server. i.e. "Get-MailboxDatabase -Server exchservername -Status | select ServerName,Name,DatabaseSize" Looking at the following link it suggests the -server parameter is required. Don't know if this is a change in SP1 as I definitely didn't use this previously. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124924.aspx Don't know why this would have changed but I'm not going to worry if it works. Thanks
