Exchange 2010 on WinServer2012?
Our company is getting ready to upgrade our exchange and dc servers. Is exchange 2010 supported on the newly released windows server 2012? I wasnt able to find documentation on this yet (assuming it just hasnt been updated already)

Hi,
No Exchange 2010 is not supported on Windows Server 2012 yet.
I'm not sure, but I don't think it will be supported until SP3 is released, whenever that will be.Martina Miskovic

I can confirm that Exchange 2010 on Server 2012 is not a good idea.
We tested upgrading our R2 boxes with Exchange 2010 to Server 2012 and while the upgrade worked without any OS issues, Exchange had some goofy problems with the EMC. While the Exchange server continued to run and worked without issue, you're not able
to access the EMC properly. You get he first node off the tree on the left with the Exchange stats and that's it. The tree wont expand past that. So unless you're an Exchange PowerShell Pro, I would stay away from it for now.

I would wait if I were you guys, there are not enough documentation and support metrics available as far as Server 2012 goes, combining with Exchange 2010, it is great to be
on top of the fast changing Technology but, from my humble experience to avoid un-necessary headache and not to introduce problems to the production & end users, it is always vice idea to wait, Test it first and go for it...
Good luck

The issue with the 2010 Exchange Management Console on server 2012 has to do with the complus version used for mmc. This is the same issue that occurs if you try to run the exchange management tools on windows 8. To get around this I open an administrator
command prompt and paste in:
set __COMPAT_LAYER=RUNASINVOKER
set COMPLUS_Version=v2.0.50727
mmc.exe
and then add the exchange management console snapin from there.
Only issue I have had with doing this is that once you finish and try to close the mmc It just hangs on shutting down so I have to manually kill the mmc process.
