Exchange 2013 - DAG (Issues)

Hi All,

I have a Exchange 2013 DAG in place across two sites.

Site 1: ECP Server (Internal CAS Only), CAS Server 1, Mailbox Server1

Site 2: CAS Server 2, Mailbox Server 2

For security the ECP is on a internally facing server, so it isn't accessible externally.

DB's are held at Site 1, nevertheless if they fail over to Site 2 the ECP doesn't work, I presume because there is no ECP server local to the databases when its failed over?

If I wanted to access ECP when the DB's failover to Site 2 I presume I would need a second CAS server in Site2 with the same settings as the ECP box as Site 1?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Jas

Hi,

If the only one CAS server which support ECP fall over, we need another CAS server to afford this service, also SCP. Please pay attention to below article about Exchange 2013 Client Access Server Role: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/01/25/exchange-2013-client-access-server-role.aspx

Besides, we recommend to build load balance to reduces the impact of failure. More details about Load balancing in Exchange 2013, please refer to:

Thanks
