Exchange 2013 / 2010 Coexistance - ActiveSync

Hi Guys.

Hopefully someone can advise me.

I have the following setup

1 x Exchange 2010 All Roles

1 x Exchange 2013 Mailbox Role

1 x Exchange 2013 CAS

I have changed our firewall so that Port 25 and 443 go to the 2013 CAS. Users internally and Externally can use Outlook fat client, iPhone Active Sync and OWA with no issues.

If i move an account over to Exchange 2013 then Active Sync fails to connect. OWA is fine and Outlook fat client has no issues.

Any ideas on what i need to change so that a user that is moved from 2010 to 2013 can use Active Sync?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Have you configure your activesync settings and autodiscovery settings?

You can use this microsoft-tool for checking.

Thanks for the reply. I have never been a massive fan of that site as it always reports something is wrong even though my Exchange Active Sync has worked flawless for the last few years.

Anyway to update you on where i am. I have not changed anything apart from reboot my 2010 Exchange server. On an iPhone i can add my Exchange 2013 account and all the connection info which it accepts. However when i open the mail client i get

Cannot Get Mail

The Connection to the Server Failed.

Are there any logs i can check to see what might be going on? Active Sync is the one bit holding me up from migrating.

If I understand you correct now. You have activesync role on both ex2010 and ex2013? I think you have to go thru your settings on your ex2013 CAS

Server configuration -> Client Access -> Exchange Activesync.  Check if that settings are correct and the auth section.

If everything seems to be OK there. Open your AD -> search for that user -> properties -> security -> advanced -> check the box "Include inheritable permissions for this object's parents

For log files.

Event Viewer -> serve roles -> Microsoft Exchange 2013.

Bawzman your the man!

OK so i checked the Active Sync settings on both CAS and they were the same. I enabled Inheritable permissions on the AD account that i had moved. Initially i thought it had not worked but then after a minute they kicked in and now show on an iDevice.

Thanks for the suggestion to get this working.
