Current scenario Exchange 2013 CU1 runing on Windows 2012.

there are two server runing Mailbox role and in DAG I want know backup best practise for the same.

If I take backup of  passive database copy backup will it truncate/purge logs from the active database copy.

Let me know how to do the backup in DAG scenario.

It may depend on the software you are using to perform the backup but in most cases you can back up either/any node and the logs will be truncated.  Obviously the node you back up will need to have a copy of all the databases for the DAG.

If you use the Windows backup, the backup will have to be performed on the active server. There are a number of other limitations as well, but it is free.

If you go for paid softwares, almost all allows backup to be done from a passive copy. I haven't come across one that doesn't allow it.
