Exchange 2013 Email delay

we have Exchange server 2013 4 mailbox servers and 4 CAS server in two sites there is between 10 to 20 Minutes delay in mail flow between internal users.

Things you can check

1) Perform message tracking and see where the mail gets deliayed

2) Open up Queue viewer and see if you can see any errors on the queue on the remote site

3) Enable protocol logging

4) Check the network connectivity between the 2 sites and ensure they are correct

5) Disable transport agents running on the Exchange and any esmtp filtering if any for testing and see the results

Thank you yes there is delay you can see from below tracking logs there is delay 20 minutes for internal email both users in same mailbox database same server and site.

Hi,

Sathishs Suggestions are valuable to execute. Here I will add other related information. Did the issue occur on the specific user or all user? Did you try sending message from OWA ? Is it also same result? Are ahmoud@acwapi.com and AlshahinTravel@acwapi.com in different site ?

If they are in different sites, I suggest you could send email to one user who is in the same site and check if there will be delay. If the issue occurs, please check the network connectivity between the 2 sites .

From the log above, I noticed it took 10 minutes to submit the email. Please check if the email is stuck in the outbox on the outlook side. There may be a wrong configuration in your send / receive connectors,

I suggest we can disable Intra-Organization SMTP Send Connector to use the default connector delivering message to narrow down the issue.

If it doesnt work, please create a new connector to test. Additionally, please restarted MS Exchange Transport service to test on every Exchange 2013 server.

Hi ,

For a checking purpose please set the "ShadowMessagePreferenceSetting" to localonly .In case if there is network issue between the sites would cause the mail delivery delay if we we set ShadowMessagePreferenceSetting to remote .

By doing so all the shadow copies will be created in the local site mailbox server instead of remote site mailbox server.
