Exchange 2013 Receiving Email Problem?
I'm rather new to MS Exchange, and i have set everything up from a fresh install. I have no problems sending email to most external accounts, I set up the send connector with some guides I found online. Anyhow when it comes to sending email from exchange
to our current hosted email it does not go through. It might have something to do with the exchange server having the same address as our old email.. not sure if that's a problem, since I couldn't find anything online about that. Now as far as getting email
to come through on the exchange server, I'm unable to figure it out. I worked with the receive connector by deleting the one that came with the fresh install, and made a new one that I though would work. When I test my exchange set up on testexchangeconnectivity
this is what I come up with..

Try to switch off the anonymous users authentication option for the default receive connector.

did you update it to Exchange CU1?
i had similar issue with response 500, had to restart the Exchange Transport Service after all the services has been started.
But i think you problem here is more related to SMTP Authentication on your recieve connectors:
make sure on your Default FrontEnd Receive Connector, the security settings looks like this :
If that's didn't solves the issue, can you post the security settings of all your receive connectors ?Systems Engineer & Solutions Architect

Changed the default frontend receiver to have the security settings you showed, and it didnt do anything different.. I'm updating to CU1 right now will report back if that changes anything..

after updating exchange to CU1 I'm still unable to receive emails from anywhere.
security settings for my receive connectors are as follows.

hopefully somebody can shed some light on anything i need to change to get inbound emails to come through..if you need any other info or settings that i currently have let me know and ill take some more screens.

no spam filter installed, its a fresh install of server 2012 as well as exchange 2013. as far as where is my public ip located can you elaborate on that please?

when i try to manually telnet the exchange server, i get the error could not open connection to the host, on port 23: connection failed. after i opened the port, im still getting the same error.

telnet <server> 25
You want to emulate a SMTP session using the telnet client, not use
the telnet client to connect to a telnet host.

by using this procedure, im able to send an email to exchange. however, i have no problems sending internal email or sending external email. only receiving external mail..

That's good. You've established that the problem isn't the Exchange
server.

Well, let's start by asking if you intend for your e-mail to be
delivered to IP address 64.150.191.72. The server at that IP address
is running Exim, not Exchange, and it identifies itself as
"server.irqtube.com".
That server accepts mail addressed to the domain ashinc.com.
Are you using it as a SMTP relay server? Is it your ISP's server? Is
it a place where you used to have POP3 mailboxes?
