Exchange 2013 and Azure Post Configuration

Hello Everybody!

I have the current situation :

I have deployed an Exchange 2013 SP1 Mailbox and Client Access server within Azure with two domain controllers on the same private network.

The Virtual Machines are in the same private network class 10.0.0.0/24 and also have Public IP Addresses.

On the two domain controllers I have installed DNS Roles and only created the A Names for the internal IP Addresses.

On the Exchange Server I have created the send connector and I am able to send emails internally and externally but only into spam for example to gmail.

I can't receive any email even tough I have selected in all the receive connectors "Anonymous users" .

I suspect I need to make changes in the DNS first of all, but don't know where to begin. Any suggestions to start receiving emails to the server would be much appreciated!

Let me know if you need further details!

Kind regards,

Radu

You should first verify that you can talk to the Exchange Server.  From a computer that's allowed to send SMTP mail to the Internet, try this in a command window.

telnet server_name_or_ip 25
helo you.company.com
mail from:you@somedomain.com
rcpt to:you@company.com
data
subject: Test message

This is a test.

Hi Radu,

Is there any updates? Have you tried ED's suggestion to use Telnet to submit an email?

To narrow down the issue. please try the following points:

1. Make sure all configurations in receive connector and send connectors are correct.
2. use the NSLOOKUP to check if the MX Record is pointing to the correct IP.
   Go to Command Prompt
   Key in NSLOOKUP and Press Enter
   Enter server {required IP of DNS server}
   Press Enter
   Enter the following
     Set q=MX
   Now if you enter the domain name required and press enter, its particular MX record will be shown. This ensures that MX record has been properly configured.
3. Confirm if the user has installed antivirus or antispam software on the server. If there is one, try disabling it.
4. Confirm whether there is any NDR received if the message sending failed.
5. Collect any event logs about Exchange transport for further analysis.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. Also I'm sorry for my late feedback.

@Ed Crowley

This is the output when trying to reach the public ip address of the exchange mailbox and client access server:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600]
(c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Users\Radu>telnet 191.233.108.XXX 25
Connecting To 191.233.108.XXX...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed

@Winnie Liang

1. In the receive connectors I have the following

Default LUDOEX

Client Proxy LUDOEX

And the default Send Connector

2. My only entries in DNS are in forward lookup zone of my domain

3. There is no antivirus or antispam software on the server

Again I would like to thank you all for the time investing in my little project. THANK YOU!
