Exchange server was working fine after original install and configuration. The only change I made since then was to install a third-party SSL certificate. After that I could not send or receive email. I rebooted the Exchange server and the domain controller and it started to send out all of my test emails. But I can still not receive anything. My DC is a physical machine and the Exchange server is a Hyper-V machine. Not really sure what other information to provide at this point. All help is greatly appreciated.

Local emails working fine. Nothing related to the certificate in the event viewer. However, there is an event error 1040 occurring every 15 minutes in the application log. Error detail is "The SMTP availability of the Receive connector Default was low (0 percent) in the last 15 minutes. Also, there is a Manageability warning in the Server Manager: Online - Cannot get event data. Hope this information helps. Thanks.

The user might not have access rights to the target server event log, or event log files might not contain valid data. For some roles and features (Hyper-V, Print and Document Services, AD LDS), this error can occur after installation, but before required post-installation configuration has been completed. The error is resolved after post-installation configuration is complete. For AD FS, this error can occur if web agents are the only role services installed, but there is currently no known resolution for this case of the error." Seems it would be new setup. did you configured you MX record and Host A Record properly in External Public DNS. Port number 25 should be open in our External Firewall. Got this resolved. It was a cert. issue. I restored a backup copy of the of the Exchange Server saved before the cert. install. The first time, I missed something during the cert. request. I did not select all the services for the request (need to highlight all services). After the cert. was installed, I did selected the services for the cert. to use, but it did not match the services on my request. Installed the cert. again and all appears to be working fine. Sorry for missing this guys. A big thank you to all that offered help!
