Exchange 5.5
I had orginally two MS Exchange 5.5 servers and using the connector within exchange had them in the same domain or ou. Last week my "main" exchange server had a problem w/ the MTA service starting and went belly up. Using MTACHECK proved useless. I moved every mail box to the 2nd exchange box and basically for a week now have been using to email to and from the internet, which has been working fine. Today I'm having a problem w/ an event id of 9318. I can't keep the internet mail service up and running w/o this message appearing and stopping the service. I believe this is happening b/c of the issues w/ my first exchange box. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Ken

My knowledge of 5.5 is getting really rusty, but you might try going in to the IMS folder and deleting the queue.dat file. That sometimes caused problems for the IMS and would cause it to crash.

Iexperienced the same problem many year ago, as i remember that was caused by the client side software, outlook 2003 or later calendaring. Microsoft has released a hotfix for it, you may contact and get the hotfix for free.
