When mounting any store in Msexchange I get an error "An Internal Error has occurred. Try restarting the Exchange System Manager on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store, or both. The description fields of the sevens will c0ontain specific error codes and may contain links to Microsoft Knowledgebase articles on troubleshooting this problem. ID no: c1041724. I restarted the Information store service and system manager. Tried again to mount the store. Same error. I checked the event viewer and found. Msexchangeis 9518: Details: Error 0xfffffb40 starting Storage Group /DC=com/DC=milliken/CN=Configuration/CN=Services/CN=Microsoft Exchange/CN=MILLIKEN/CN=Administrative Groups/CN=First Administrative Group/CN=Servers/CN=W2K3SERVER/CN=InformationStore/CN=First Storage Group on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store. Storage Group - Initialization of Jet failed. ESE 454: Detials: Information Store (5340) First Storage Group: Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error -1216. ESE 494: Details: Information Store (5340) First Storage Group: Database recovery failed with error -1216 because it encountered references to a database, 'C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\pub1.edb', which is no longer present. The database was not brought to a Clean Shutdown state before it was removed (or possibly moved or renamed). The database engine will not permit recovery to complete for this instance until the missing database is re-instated. If the database is truly no longer available and no longer required, procedures for recovering from this error are available in the Microsoft Knowledge Base or by following the "more information" link at the bottom of this message. Have defragged databases Priv and Pub. Have repaired Priv and Pub. Databases check clean with eseutil \mh Confusion. Help! Exchange version is 6.5 on Windows server 2003.

39 views and no guesses. Bummer. I wound up moving all of the log files for the public database. When I tried to mount the public store, it replayed every log in the event viewer. So I moved all the logs of the private store. Mailboxstore mounted successfully. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
